《吉尼斯世界记录》今天总共给他颁发了八张世界记录认证书。其中主要包括：世界史上最畅销的专辑——《Thriller》。据《吉尼斯世界记录》的认证书上称：该专辑已在全球卖出了超过1.04亿张。在美国《Billboard》音乐排行榜的前十名内连续停留了80周。这比起之前的那些销量4000万到6000万张不等的说法，这是获得认证的最新统计数据。
Michael Jackson是第一个在美国以外的地区卖出一亿张专辑的艺术家。
