第一天，上帝对无边的黑暗十分不满，就轻轻一挥手，说：“要有光”，于是世间就有了光。上帝称“光”为“昼”，称“黑暗”为“夜”。亮光隐去，黑暗重临，从此，世间就有了昼与夜的交替。

第二天，神说：“诸水之间要有空气，将水分为上下。” 神就造出空气，将空气以下的水、空气以上的水分开了。事就这样成了。神称空气为天。有晚上，有早晨，是第二日。

第三天，上帝看到陆地上混沌不分，心中不悦，就说：“水应聚集在一起，使旱地显露。”于是，水便汇聚起来，旱地显露出来。上帝称旱地为“陆”，称聚水的地方为“海洋”。上帝又说：“陆地上要生出草木和各种蔬菜。”于是大地生出了草木，出现了各种瓜果蔬菜，籽实累累，整个大地上一片生机盎然。

第四天，上帝说：“天上要有光体，可以分管昼夜，作记号，定节令、日子、年岁，并要发光普照全地。”于是上帝造就了两个光体，给它们分工，让大的那个管理昼，小的那个管理夜。上帝又造就了无数的星斗。把它们嵌列在天幕之中。

第五天，上帝说：“水中要有众多的鱼，天空中要有无数的鸟。”于是，世间出现了各种各样的鱼和飞鸟。鱼自由自在地畅游在水中，鸟自由地翱翔在天空。上帝又说：“地上要有各种动物。”于是，大地上出现了各种野兽和昆虫，野兽在地上奔跑自如，昆虫飞舞在花草中。

第六天，上帝看到阳光明媚，大地辽阔，世间一片姹紫嫣红，兽跳虫跃，鱼游鸟鸣，十分满意，于是说：“我要照我样式造人，让他管理地上的万物和走兽。”上帝用泥捏成一个泥人，朝泥人吹了一口仙气，于是，人便在上帝的手里诞生了。

上帝用五天的时间造出天地万物，又在第六天按自己的形象造出了人。上帝看到天地万物井然有序、生生不息，他造的人英俊健壮，很高兴，便决定把第七天作为休息的日子。

后来，人们按照上帝造世的时间，也把每周分为七天，六天工作，第七天休息。或是五天工作，第六天做自己的事，第七天休息。并把每周的第七天称为“礼拜天”，或是星期天用来感谢上帝造世的功德。

从一岁到二十岁，人活的是自身的寿命，所以无忧无虑，十分快乐；
