『肆』 如何評價Pink Floyd新專輯The Endless River
這一首新歌的開場音效特別像《The Division Bell》那張專輯，那就是上一張正規錄音室專輯。
預計風格延續《The Division Bell》，因為這張新作品有部分錄音是1993年完成的，就是上一張專輯的發行時間。還有一部分是1969年錄制的，也就是原聲專輯《More》和半錄音半現場那張《Ummagumma》錄制的時候，所以風格可能會有一致性。新做的錄音是2013年開始的，也許這部分會比較和以往的不一樣。
那首歌開頭一句歌詞，「we bitch and we fight」就足可以體現特色了。依然寶刀未老。但估計這也可能是這張作品裡面唯一唱得一首歌。
封面設計描繪的是：一名年輕男子著敞領衫，穿過一片雲海，面朝太陽的光芒，撐一條孤舟。配合標題有一種神韻吧，講不太清楚，大概就是容易讓我想到《Life of Pi》。
標題The Endless River，在《The Division Bell》里出現過，也就是《High Hopes》的最後一句「The water flowing/The endless river/Forever and ever 」

看見有人討論Dave和Waters的創作能力，有人覺得由Dave主導的樂隊創作大不如從前了。
我對樂理不太懂，但主題能夠聽得出來，就我的觀點而言：
Dave的風格注重旋律，主題次之。他自己做的《On An Iland》整體性很強，聽了之後身臨其境的感覺。對Dave的批評主要是音樂元素使用總是沿襲最經典的《The Dark Side of the Moon》，沒有什麼突破。但是你仔細聽他們的《Comfortably Numb》，有一小段solo同《Time》是很相似的，如果因為這說《The Wall》不經典是說不過去的，盡管Rogers離團後那幾張更加無所突破。
Waters比較哲學，節奏把控很好，作品主題都很明顯，像《Amused To Death》裡面，很多悲天憫人的獨奏。
對此一下，Waters離開後，Dave使用的意象都是自然物，grass, iland ,river。Waters依然延續他的社會化主題，體制，消費主義，電視文化等。
於是可以看出來Dave更多地關注的是一種個人的人生觀了，come back to life 。現如今各成員分道揚鑣，散的散了，去世的去世了，在一起的還在一起，也沒有那麼多苦大仇深了。所以現在作品主題就更平靜了，沒那麼鮮明的節奏呀，深刻批判呀，悲天憫人呀。
仍然像上面提到的《High Hopes》那最後一句，「the water flowing / the endless river / forever and ever」
人之將去時，不需要再刻意去做出讓別人覺得厲害交口稱贊的東西了。回顧自身，他們這幾個搞毛了的好基友們已經做出這么大成就來了，就不需要再得到什麼肯定了，louder than words , 事實勝於雄辯嘛。至於再來一次，並不是要來革新什麼搖滾樂，而是再回顧一次他們自己最熱愛的東西，而這也許就是他們最後一次做這個了。像Wright已經沒機會了。
就像《憤怒的公牛》，拳王拉莫塔最後成了一個講段子的人，還在鏡子面前給自己打氣，毫無疑問他不再是一個偉大的拳手了，但不可否認，他永遠是個鬥士。光輝是一時的，相對而言，生活就是endless。
所以從態度上，我給這首音樂和這張專輯，正面評價和預期的正面評價。
專輯方面，不能預測會有些什麼樣叼炸天的東西，等待吧。以上的評論僅針對這首歌。

自1965年成立至1983年，Roger Waters一直是Pink Floyd的創作主腦。求學時期，他在周末的藝術課程中認識了其後成為Pink Floyd 主音兼結他手的Syd Barrett。中學畢業後倆人分道揚鑣，Roger Waters遷往倫敦並於Regent Street Polytechnic修讀建築，在此他遇上鼓手Nick Mason及鍵琴手Richard Wright，三人決定組織樂隊，Roger自己則負責低音結他及主唱；其後Syd Barrett加入並正式成立Pink Floyd樂隊。
